Shawn Porter is making the call for a victory against Errol Spence.

Shawn Porter already envisions himself as a unified champion when he faces Errol Spence on September 28. Their anticipated welterweight unification bout is set to headline at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Making his prediction for the fight, “Showtime” decided to have fun with Spence’s nickname; “The Truth.”

“The truth is this dude has skills, he’s got power; he’s got speed,” said Porter. “He’s got everything that it takes. But the truth is, I have all those things as well. The truth is, I don’t think y’all have seen him in the ring with someone like him before. Y’all have not seen him in the ring with someone that possesses all those things.”

Spence (25-0, 21KOs) claimed the IBF title with a knockout victory over then champion Kell Brook in May 2017. He has three successful defenses of the belt, most recently a unanimous decision victory against Mikey Garcia in March.

Porter (30-2-1, 17KOs) has held the WBC title since September 2018, after he defeated Danny Garcia for the vacant belt by unanimous decision. He retained the title in his only defense with a split decision victory over Yordenis Ugas; also in March.

The Akron, Ohio native would love to get his hands on Spence’s championship belt as well.

“The truth is y’all goin have to wait till September 28th to see it go down,” said Porter. “But I’m telling y’all the truth right now. I’m leaving that ring a unified champion.”
